The Irish Deer Society has branches all over Ireland - Donegal, Connaught, Leinster, Munster and  Kerry.

Matt Hyland Trophy

This award is presented to a person in recognition of work to advance the interest of the IDS and its activities in Leinster.

 Matt Hyland trophy

Joe Murphy was awarded the Matt Hyland trophy due to his committment to sourcing and recording and photographing trophy heads of wild deer which have been taken in Ireland. This data was put on display at the IRISH DEER SOCIETY National AGM which was held in Laragh, Co Wicklow in the Spring of 2008,

This exhibition was totally organised by Joe, the collection and display was of an exceptional quality and the Leinster Branch of the Society, who were the hosts of that AGM, received great credit as a result of Joe's efforts.
