Two topics of importance to Deer stalkers
The Firearms Act and the Wildlife Act

On above date a members meeting will take place in the Clarion Hotel, Liffey Valley:
Directions: The Clarion Hotel is located near Liffey Valley Shopping Centre just off the M50- N/M4junction.
The hotel is located off the N/M4 after exit 7 from the M50.
From the M50, it’s the first exit after the toll Bridge coming from North and the exit just before the toll bridge coming from South, called the GALWAY or WEST of Ireland road. You take the first left to Liffey Valley and the Hotel is on the left as you head towards the shopping centre complex.

There will be a raffle for prizes of interest to stalkers and deer lovers hunting knives, books and lots of other stuff.
Your long overdue membership cards will be available and distributed on the night, we must apologise for the delay but the problem has now been resolved and your membership cards for 2010 will be issued to you in Jan 2010.

HCAP Manuals (2009 edition) will be available for sale at the meeting for a reduced price of 30 euro and members of the Leinster Branch committee will be available to discuss any related topic and assist you in whatever way they can.

The 2 guest speakers will give a talk on the subject of the new Firearms Legislation and the Wildlife Act 1976/2000 Legislation and issues which relates to Deer and Deer stalkers.

Liam Mc Garry is the IDS rep on the Firearms Consultative Panel. He will give an overview of the current position in relation to the new Firearms Acts and help to clarify any queries you may have.

Des Crofton, National Director of the NARGC, (of which the Leinster Branch is affiliated) well known for his knowledge on all matters relating to field sports will provide a Power Point presentation on the Wildlife Act and how the Act impacts on you as deer stalkers.

Raffle.
There will be a large range of spot prizes, but if you have a spot prize that you wish to donate please bring it along.

The book “Working with Dogs for Deer” by Neil Sondergaard will be on sale, and thanks to a donation from Simon Martin of the  Leinster Branch Committee two of these deer tracking books will also be raffled on the night. This book is worth it for the fantastic photographs alone apart from the wealth of knowledge contained therein.  For more information on this book visit IDS website.
